2020 has been a year of unprecedented activities –  lockdowns, border closures and school closures.  Events, sports and other activities have had to be postponed or cancelled.  One such event was the NCEA practice examinations in Term 3 which were cancelled to reduce student stress and increase time for teaching and learning.  One consequence of this action has been an increased difficulty in making the award of Dux and Proxime Accessit.

Following discussion, the Heads of Learning Areas determined it would be fairer to make this award on actual NCEA results and to present these awards at the Scholars Assembly in mid February 2021.  Although this decision will be disappointing, we need to be grateful that we are now in a position to host a Ball, a Prizegiving, a Thanksgiving Mass, a Leavers’ Liturgy and Dinner, and complete NCEA examinations.
