My name is Julie Scott and I would like to introduce myself to the Carmel College community. I joined the Board of Trustees early in 2019 and have recently been elected as the Chairperson of the Board. I have a daughter, Mia, in Year 7 and I am a proud old girl myself. I look forward to continuing my close association with Carmel in the coming years.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome to the 2019 Board: Val Broomfield who was re-elected as a parent representative, on-going student rep Kiara Theron, and Sr Rosemary Revell and Peter Beckett who continue in their proprietors roles. New to the board in 2019 are parent representatives Pravina Singh, (deputy chair), Michael Chinnery and Kerry Jones and staff representative Catherine Mackisack. All of our board members bring with them a wealth of knowledge and skill with many having also previously sat on school boards. Please see the school website for individual board member bio’s.
I would like to thank the following outgoing board members for the outstanding contribution they have made to the board and therefore our school community – Siobhan Harrod, Stana Pezic, Kim Spark, Peter Wells, Andrea Boyed and Liz de Kort. So much of a school board’s core business is largely invisible to the wider community but every member has generously given of their time and expertise to ensure Carmel is progressing in the right direction, with our children at the heart of everything we aim to achieve. I would particularly like to thank Liz who last year stepped in to the chairperson role. With her vast experience and skills she has ably helped set the direction for a positive and progressive future.
I would like to reassure the school community that the current Board of Trustees are committed to continuing with the progress made to date and look forward to working alongside Chris, the senior leadership team and the entire school community as we move forward, not only as we transition out of LSM, but in the many years ahead.
