This was one of the questions discussed by ten students from Year 9 and 10 who attended the Academy Study ‘Stretch and Challenge’ day. During the day at St Cuthbert’s, they joined students from other schools to learn about philosophical ideas, genetics, epigenetics, transhumanism and debate about culling possums. The day allowed the students to step outside of their subject curricula and explore topics in a holistic manner. All present certainly stretched their thinking to the limits, including the teachers. Students who attended were: Jillian Aquino, Lia Cho, Alexandra Deady, Sophie Drury, Genevieve Lai, Elise MacGregor, Reanna Misquitta, Leilani Moce, Shana Singh-Anderson and Ginger Vargas.
