Acting Head of Technology

We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Acting Head of Technology to lead our highly engaging and successful Technology Department that includes digital, food and materials technologies and hospitality.

The successful applicant will: 

  • Be required to accept, recognise and preserve the special character of the school and be committed to the school’s mission and values.
  • Understand and have a commitment to girls’ education.
  • Oversee scholarship, which is offered across the Technology Department.
  • Be able to lead the department through curricular changes currently taking place. The applicant therefore is required to have a deep knowledge of the conceptual understandings and learning progressions required in Technology.
  • Possess leadership skills in the areas of staff management, reporting and administration. This means they are able to maintain high standards of fair and equitable assessment practices, and have robust structures for moderation, gathering of formative assessment data and maintaining up to date assessment databases.
  • Plan and implement Health and Safety procedures relevant to the teaching resources and spaces for the learning area. This may include providing training and support to staff outside of the learning area.

This is a fixed term position (maternity leave), commencing 28 January 2025 until 27 January 2026.
