During Term 4 Year 7/8 students learnt about Financial Literacy as part of their Social Studies programme. As part of the programme the students learnt about profit, expenses and costs and then researched, created and marketed their own products for sale.
The programme ended in a Christmas Market on Tuesday this week where all students had a chance to sell their wares. From scrunchies to cupcakes, lip balm to Christmas decorations plus market food there was something for everyone. The largest profit was made by Year 8 students Savannah Blewden, Honor Braid and Abbie Bult. They sold their scrunchies, keep cups and stickers for a profit of $153.90. All profits are going towards buying new recycling bins for the school. At the time of publishing, the money is still being counted up.
