Pumphouse Open Day, Takapuna

On Sunday the 23rd of May, 4 students, Isabel Pudney, Amelia Clewett, Swetlana Khoo and Lanna Lagasca from Carmel College braved the not so pleasant weather and spent the day volunteering at the Pumphouse Theatre in Takapuna. This was an amazing experience for us as we were able to get involved in the community and acquire real life experience. The Pumphouse was having their yearly open day for people to gain more knowledge of this historic theatre, and on the day, the Pumphouse welcomed families, took people to look around the buildings, educated them about the fascinating history and tried on costumes that have performed on stage. We were each given different jobs, including watching over costumes and photographers. This was a truly heart-warming experience and we are all so grateful for this opportunity.
