The Year 7&8 Speech final was finally held on Monday this week, after a delay of a whole Term due to lockdown learning.
The students in Year 7&8 wrote, revised and presented their persuasive speeches online in their classes while at home. The year level finals were also held on Meets at home. From the semi-finals, six girls were selected to go through to the final which was held (socially distanced) in the school theatre. Students in classrooms watched in their classrooms on Meet.
This was a challenging year for our speakers, who all showed commendable resilience and perseverance. The first prize winner was Grace O’Neill (Year 8) with a speech entitled ‘Fashion or Control?’; Second was Bella Dimes (Year 7) with ‘Style Stress’; and third was Madeline Susanto (Year 8) with ‘The Dangers of Mobile Phones’ (pictured left to right).
Congratulations to all our winners and runners-up.
