At Carmel College, the importance of staff wellbeing and fostering a positive school culture goes beyond the classroom. Through the introduction of staff sport activities, the college has created an environment that encourages participation, camaraderie, and fun. Over the last Term staff have been involved in Badminton and Spikeball tournaments, with the teams of Matua and Trelise (student teacher) taking out the Spikeball competition and Anna Lovegrove and Graham Atkinson winning the Badminton doubles.
But it is not all about winning. Through the enthusiastic participation and enjoyment from these activities, teachers and staff members at Carmel College experience the benefits of physical activity, teamwork, and wellbeing. The inclusive and fun-oriented approach to staff sports creates a positive school culture, strengthens relationships among colleagues, and serves as a powerful example to students.
