Carmel College’s annual Coin Trail will be held on Friday, 15 March. Leading up to the day, the school encourages students to bring in donations to raise funds for Caritas NZ. Caritas is New Zealand’s Catholic agency for justice, peace and development – making a change in our wider community for the better. This year the money raised for Caritas will go towards providing better education opportunities for women in Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea.
We ask all families within our school community to donate small amounts of cash which will be collected in your daughter’s Atawhai classes or, alternatively, a donation via the Carmel shop on the school website. Your donation will be processed under your daughter’s House group to collect House points for the annual House cup competition. No matter how small the contribution, we assure you it makes a difference.
Fundraising ends on St Patrick’s Day with a green-themed mufti day, chalk designs and fun lunchtime stalls with games, home baking and sausage sizzle. We encourage everyone to get involved on the day as it is a highlight of the school year for many students – and make sure to bring extra coins to spend on the stalls!
