Mathex was a great experience for those who wanted to boost their learning opportunities. It was a mix between maths problem solving and running.
The competition took place in the Northcross Intermediate school gym. There were many teams from other schools across the North Shore also eager to compete. Each team had to solve 20 questions in 30 minutes. It was pretty nerve-wracking for the eight Carmel teams, four Year 7 and four Year 8, but we still tried our best, and all worked so well together enjoying the experience.
Carmel had one runner in Year 8 and three runners in Year 7 who won prizes for being polite and respectful representatives of our school. We enjoyed competing against other schools and it was a fun experience.
