Year 9 Students vs Staff Softball Competition

Year 9 had a fantastic day of softball competition during activity week.  The day was filled with exciting games, great sportsmanship and plenty of fun.  We were incredibly lucky to have Olympic Softball umpire, Mark Porteous, join us for the day.   His expertise and insights added an extra level of excitement to the event.

After a day of fierce competition, 9Wha emerged as the champions, defeating 9Rua in a thrilling final match.
To top off the day, a tournament team of talented players (above) was selected and they then took on the teachers on Wednesday 11 December for the school’s annual Year 9 Students vs Staff softball competition.  The Year 9 team came out strong, showcasing some impressive batting and fielding skills right from the start.  Their teamwork and determination were evident as they set a high standard for the game.

The staff, however, weren’t going to let the students take the lead without a fight.  Despite the Year 9 team’s early momentum, the staff team managed to pull off a few late home runs, swinging the game in their favour.  It was a thrilling finish as the staff clinched the win, but the real victory was the spirit of friendly competition that everyone demonstrated throughout the game.

A huge congratulations to all participants for their sportsmanship and effort.
