Coin Trail is coming up on Monday 17 March. In the three weeks leading up to this annual event, held on St Patrick’s day, we contribute coins to support the wonderful, charitable work that Caritas carries out. This raises money for their Lenten Appeal which is “Restoring Hope: Your Compassion in Action (Kia Puawai Te Tūmanako)”. This year’s Lenten Appeal also aligns with Pope Francis’ call for us to be Pilgrims of Hope in this Jubilee Year: bringing light, faith and hope through our actions. Therefore the theme for our chalk design competition is also “Pilgrims of Hope”.
Students will have the option to donate online through the Carmel shop. You can do this by:
- Click on this link which will take you to the Carmel shop.
- Select ‘Carmel Online shop’ and ‘Coin Trail 2025’ on the left hand side bar.
- Select how much you would like to donate and proceed to checkout.
- Once you’ve donated online, please have your daughter inform her Atawhai teacher of the amount so it can be added to her Atawhai’s total.
Coin Trail is not only a meaningful way of celebrating our Irish roots and fundraising, but also an uplifting Carmel tradition. As always, the Atawhai that raises the most money wins!
