Carmel College on Auckland’s North Shore is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic coach for our Senior A Basketball Team.  Carmel College currently manages an all female Basketball programme for approximately 40 girls at various levels of ability and for all ages.

The appointee directly contributes to all areas of coaching, including trials, skill development and is able to work within the schools special character.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Director of Sport and Sports Coordinator to ensure a professional and consistent approach to the Carmel College programmes and services, supporting the philosophy of athlete development for all ages, from beginners to elite competitors.  This position also has a responsibility for mentoring and educating young female Basketball players and enhancing the students’ love of the game.

You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organised and have a proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment.  The successful applicant will be motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and enjoy working as part of a team.

Proven track record in working with other female teams would be an advantage, as would qualifications in sports coaching/management.

If you genuinely love the sport of Basketball, and are able to commit to our senior team for the duration of the season including Auckland League, Auckland qualifiers, and potentially NZSS Nationals.

There is a small honorarium for the right candidate.
