Carmel College Uniform Reminders

As we come to the end of Term 1, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you about the Carmel College uniform expectations for all students.  Our uniform is part of our brand and when wearing the uniform, either at school or in the community, girls are very visible as representatives of our College.  We have high standards at Carmel College, and we ask parents to support the school by ensuring that your daughter has the correct uniform items, in the correct size, and that she is wearing the uniform according to our Carmel College expectations.

Skirts: we are seeing many girls in skirts they have had from 4-5 years ago.  They are now far too small and short.  Skirts need to sit just above the knee in length.  Please check your daughter’s skirt, and if required organise a new skirt over the holidays, ready for Term 2.

Socks/tights: the requirement is black crew length socks (not ankle socks).  Please ensure your daughter has sufficient socks to get through each week.  We are seeing a lot of white socks, ankle length socks and sport socks with logos on them.  Girls are welcome to wear black opaque tights at any time (70 denier); however, all girls must have a pair of opaque tights for when formal uniform is required.

Hair ribbons and badges: replacement hair ribbons and badges can be purchased from the front office.  Hair ribbons on hair ties are $1 each.  Badges range from $4-$12.

Footwear

Sandals: sandals must have a back strap which must be worn buckled and up on the heel (not trying to turn them into slip ons).

Shoes: black leather lace-up or Mary-Jane type shoes are a compulsory uniform item.  Sandals are an optional item for Terms 1 & 4 only.  Girls must have black leather school shoes ready to start Term 2.

Please follow this LINK to the Carmel uniform expectations.

If you have questions about uniform items, please contact your daughter’s dean in the first instance.
