Day 1 and Day 2 of 2025

On Tuesday 28 January, we welcomed all the new students to Carmel College for 2025.  There were 166 Year 7 students coming from 36 primary schools.  We also welcomed new students in Years 9-13 as well as a number of international students.

The students participated in an orientation programme facilitated by our Student Leadership Team and Year 11 Tuakana Leaders.  The students had the opportunity to connect with one another, have lunch together and learn all about the routines and values of our school.
Year 7 students began the Tuakana Teina programme with their House and Tuakana Leaders.  This will continue for Term 1, during Monday Atawhai time to foster a sense of belonging, wellbeing and community.

On Wednesday 29 January, all students were back on site to begin the 2025 academic school year.  The day began with a Mihi Whakatau held under the canopy, where the students had the opportunity to speak in Te Reo Maori and welcome new staff, students and their whanau.

We have had a great start to the year – bring on 2025 !
