Accommodation
While studying at Carmel College, our students must be living in approved accommodation.
Girls may live with either:
- Their parents
- Designated caregiver (relative or close family friend)
- Carmel College homestay
Homestay Application
We are fortunate to have a range of caring and experienced homestay families that enjoy hosting and learning about other cultures. Many of our host families develop lasting relationships with their student. Our host families are all police vetted and visited on a regular basis to ensure both student and families are happy.

Designated Caregivers
A Designated Caregiver must be a relative or a close friend of the family. Designated Caregivers will be visited regularly and all occupants in the residence who are over 18 years of age will be Police Vetted. Please fill out the following forms and return to us:

- Police Vetting Identification Requirements
- Police Vetting Form (one per adult aged 18+)
Becoming A Host Family
Thank you for your interest in hosting a homestay student from Carmel College. Hosting an International Student is a very rewarding experience both for our students and their homestay families. We find that our host families and students develop very close relationships and maintain this contact when the student returns to their home country.
Please fill in the Homestay Application Form below and return this to homestays@carmel.school.nz. A staff member will then be in contact to arrange a home visit and discuss any questions you may have.

Please note: It is mandatory for Carmel College to sight and hold on record a copy of two forms of ID. One must be a photo ID for example Passport or Driver’s License. Please have these available and ready on day of house visit.
