Bishop Michael Gielen was ordained on Saturday as the auxiliary Bishop of Auckland. Held at the Vodafone Events Centre, Manukau, to hold the 3,000+ people who attended, this was an amazing Catholic celebration which included music and ritual to mark our traditions along with cultural processions and community involvement which reflect the diverse nature of our Church in NZ. All Catholic schools were represented and students formed a guard of honour for the bringing up of the symbols of the Bishop’s role. What a great sense of community there was to mark this very special occasion!
Carmel College was represented by our Heads of Special Character, Talitha Pereira and Prishlisaa Lawerance along with Head of Cecilia Maher House, Claire Tagwireyi-Shoko
