We said farewell to Annie Sadlier, Director of Sport last week (pictured above left with Heads of Sport, Maisey Lendrum and Annie Gaylard, and Claire Magness pictured right).

Annie has been at Carmel for 8 1/2 years and is leaving us to take on the Director of Sport role at St Peter’s College in Epsom.

Annie has brought to Carmel a strong desire and vision for sport to succeed at the highest level, and she has been instrumental in building a solid platform for all our students.  The successful Volleyball programme is something Annie has been particularly proud of and has developed the sport where they are competitive nationally.

We thank Annie for all the time, passion and energy she has brought to our school and wish her all the best as she steps into her new chapter.

The new Director of Sport role has been awarded to Claire Magness.  Claire has been deservedly promoted into the role after being a part of the Sport Department for 10 years.  In recent years Claire’s expertise has advanced to a regional level where she manages the Northern Marvel Netball Team, which is the development team to the Northern Mystics.  Claire brings with her a wealth of sporting experience within our community and has a vision for the development of sport through a broad lens.

We know you will all join us in congratulating her and look forward to the continuation of a highly successful sporting programme at Carmel College.
