Tena koutou katoa. Nga mihi atawhai nui.
As the Omicron version of COVID continues its relentless spread in the community, we are now beginning to have reports of students and/or their family members testing positive.
And our response to this increase in cases is changing as well. As of midnight last night, we moved to Phase 3 of the RED setting. This means that only household members will be considered close contacts.
What we are seeing with our students is that there is a high degree of mask wearing compliance and with other hygiene measures and we would like to thank you all for your continued support in keeping ourselves and each other safe.
Even with these increasing numbers, we are still able to continue with onsite learning. For those who are isolating at home, the online learning hybrid is still operating to keep all of our students engaged in their learning, as much as we can under these circumstances.
While we do have a few staff isolating at home under the current close contact definitions, we have not had any staff test positive.
We continue to keep all our families in our prayers as they recover from COVID and home isolation.
