On Thursday, 15 & 22 February, the Level 3 Sports Science class spent the days surfing at Tāwharanui regional park. This was a very exciting activity and despite the majority of the class having little to no experience, there was a lot of learning, a lot of falling off and a lot of fun.
As part of an internal Assessment, students will be reflecting on the impact of participation on their well being and whether surfing will become part of future physical activity choices when they leave school. Students also had the opportunity to be assessed on performance for the practical Achievement Standard.
Thank you to Ms Tippett and Ms Giles, as without them we would not have had this opportunity.
