IMPORTANT – Te Taura here ki Pupuke

The next whānau hui (meeting) for Te Taura here ki Pupuke has been moved forward to next Tuesday 27th August at 6.30 pm in the Whānau Room. This is due to developments regarding the Head of Māori role which is to be a part of the 2020 Student Leadership Team.

Hui occur once a term and are for all Māori students and parents, especially those who are new to the school and whānau community. Attending hui is highly encouraged as they provide a great opportunity for networking, developing leadership, communication skills, and expressing feedback on the current and future path of the rōpū. Please bring a plate of kai to share and RSVP to Maria Bound-Gussey at miabeegee@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Pink Day – Sausage Sizzle

On 9 August, we celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness by raising money to go towards the Breast Cancer Foundation at our annual Pink Day. Although the weather may have blown a few too many napkins away, our Māori and Pasifika girls helped raise awareness and money by doing a sausage sizzle. This proved to be a successful day with girls lining up before sausages had even been cooked! This wouldn’t have been successful if it wasn’t for our Pasifika and Māori Leaders and from the helping hands of our Māori and Pasifika peers. Overall, it was a great day and we were able to help raise awareness and money for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
