On Saturday 10 June members from Carmel College and Rosmini College were invited to attend a Miha (Mass) at the Catholic Chapel onsite at Hato Pētera College in Northcote. The Miha was celebrated by Father Nathaniel and was mostly said in Te Reo Māori with hīmene (hymns) and karakia (prayer) being performed in a traditional chanting fashion. Sophie Farrell, our Tu Wahine, did a reading, along with Matua Kane Wilson from Rosmini College.
Miha at the chapel on Hato Pētera College will be held each month on the Saturday evening before the second Sunday of the month at 5.00pm. Celebrating Miha each month and connecting with Hato Pētera and the mana whenua (people of the land) of this area is a great opportunity to reconnect. We would like to thank Matua Manuel Beazley, Māori Vicar for Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland and Tai Tokerau/Northland, for inviting us to the Miha.
We look forward to growing our connection with Hato Petera and attending the next Miha on Saturday 8 July, 5pm. All are welcome.
