Over 60 girls took part in our annual 2024 Caritas Challenge last Friday. This year, we focused on Caritas’ works to raise awareness for children and women of Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste. We kicked off the event with some self-made cupcakes for afternoon tea and an introductory slideshow that highlighted the difficulties faced by many individuals today.
It was a fun and jam-packed night with four main rotational workshops. First was the obstacle course, which illustrated the challenges people face when trying to access sufficient food, water and education in Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste. Second was the “Mix and Match” activity, which helped students gain a better understanding of Caritas’ Ethical Principles and values. Third was a Bible search, where students explored various biblical themes related to social justice and compassion. Lastly, we ended the night with a hands-on shelter-building challenge. Using cardboard, students creatively constructed the safest and most durable homes, showcasing the resourcefulness needed in real-life situations.
This year’s Caritas Challenge was an absolute blast! A big thank you to all the students and staff who made this night possible. We can’t wait for next year’s challenge to be even bigger and better!
