The Starlight Talent Showcase was held at the Rosmini Auditorium on 27 July.  It’s a youth talent competition for dancers, singers, choirs, musicians and bands based in the North Shore Catholic Dioceses.

This year there was a huge presence from Carmel College students with a wide range of different talents being demonstrated.

Congratulations to Herbie Concolis for an amazing performance of “Greatest love of all” which earned her 2nd place.  Niketa Fernando also won the “He Tāngata (People’s Choice) Award” for her group’s rendition of “A Whole New World”.  Special mention should also go to Upsee, Harper-Rose de Jonge, Shania DeSouza, Siohan Fialho, Abby O’Donoghue, Kate Cabe and Lauren Turnbull for their incredible performances.

The event was hosted by Carmel College Head Girl, Hannah McDonald, and Gordon and Frankie Watt (St Mary’s) who did a fantastic job as MCs for the evening.
