For my service hours this year, I helped coach my younger sister’s Year 3 & 4 netball team. She plays for Stella Maris Primary School (my old school). During the season, the team I coached, along with Whangaparaoa Primary School netball team, were recognised for their great sportsmanship by being invited to train at a special session with two Silver Ferns. 

On Monday we had the training session followed by a special afternoon tea. The two amazing Ferns who gave up their valuable time were Michaela Sokolich-Beatson and Bailey Mes! After the training, they gifted each school a world cup netball dress signed by all the players.

I really enjoyed the afternoon and I was very happy that I agreed to help coach my little sister’s netball team!
