He rau ringa e oti ai is a Maori whakatauki about how many hands make light work. This is exactly what Georgia Mehrtens, Kareena Young and myself have been doing over the last few weekends. We have been volunteering at the New Zealand Cat foundation where every Saturday morning we make a drive out to Kumeu to help out at the pussy palace for cat pensioners. Here we clean food bowls, feed the cats, clean out litter boxes, but most of all, give them unconditional love and many cuddles. Although it can be dirty work (and smelly), the light that our many hands make, is what makes it all worth it!
