Congratulations to the 661 students who completed their service hours and reflection assignment this year.  It is expected that all Carmel students complete service each year as a practical way of putting the Gospel message and our Core Mercy values into action.  Years 7 and 8 complete 10 hours, Years 9 and 10 complete 15 hours and Years 11,12 and 13 complete 20 hours.  This means that Carmel students have completed over 10,000 hours of unpaid service to the community this year.  It has been a bit challenging with COVID and the girls are to be congratulated for working through these difficulties to find ways to still complete service.  There are so many people, charities and groups who have benefitted from the generosity of our Carmel girls who have given their time to help others by seeing a need and making a difference.

Remember that service hours can start from Term 4 so girls can get onto doing their hours now and over the summer.  Please encourage your daughters to look at ways they can serve in the community – service needs to be unpaid and chores at home do not count!
