North Shore Hospital Auxiliary Rooms
Every Wednesday a small group of students from 7SA (Felicity Chong, Julia Burns, Amber Lynch, Andrea Gestopa, Sadie Walsh, Sophie Wavish and Emmarose De Guzman) walk to the North Shore Hospital Auxiliary rooms for service. It’s a great way to have fun with our peers while also helping out the community. So far we have helped with stuffing pillows and toys for the kids, putting sleep packs together for hospital patients and more. As well as helping everyone at the hospital, the Hospital Auxiliary service programme helps us to complete our 10 hours of service. After 48 years of service, the North Shore Hospital Auxiliary Rooms have been awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for service to a DHB by a volunteer group – from the Ministry of Health.
Thank you Cait Thain (Year 11 Service Leader), Angela Garrett (Service Coordinator) and Linda Smalley from the auxiliary rooms for helping to supervise and coordinate this for us.
