This week as part of Holy Week we held our traditional Stations of the Cross with Rosmini College at St Joseph’s Parish, Takapuna. This very long-standing tradition between our two schools of acting out the Stations accompanied by the combined choir and orchestra, is a very special occasion in the liturgical year.
Praying the Stations of the Cross is a powerful way to contemplate, and enter into, the mystery of Jesus’ gift of himself to us. It takes the reflection on the passion out of our heads and makes it an imaginative exercise that involves our senses, our experiences, and our emotions. In praying the Stations, may we come to experience more deeply the love of Jesus for us.
Thanks you to Mr Glen Child (HOD Music) for coordinating the music overall, along with Mr Robert Howell who directs the choir and Mrs Bev Brockelbank who prepared the orchestra. Thank you also to the Rosmini staff who joined us in coordinating this annual event: Sarah Scholz, Vanessa Kay and Lynne van Wyk.
The event was well attended by parents and students from both schools.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter
Ms Rosanna Fouhy, Director of Religious Studies
