This week, as part of Holy Week, we held our traditional Stations of the Cross with Rosmini College at St Joseph’s Parish, Takapuna.
The acting out of the Stations, accompanied by the orchestra, is an important event in our liturgical year, and has been a tradition between our two schools for a long time. Praying the Stations of the Cross is a powerful way to contemplate, and enter into, the mystery of Jesus’ gift of himself to us. It takes the reflection of the passion out of our heads and makes it an imaginative exercise that involves our senses, our experiences and our emotions. In praying the Stations, may we come to experience more deeply the love of Jesus for us.
Thank you so much to Ms Fouhy who helped organise this event, preparing the girls and boys well. Thank you to Mr Glen Child (HOD Music) for coordinating the music overall, along with Mr Robert Howell who directs the choir and Mrs Bev Brockelbank who prepared the orchestra. Thank you to Mrs van Wyk and Mrs Fernandes who joined Ms Fouhy in coordinating this annual event. The Stations this year had many people present.
