Congratulations to Beatrice Belleza who was awarded one of 20 places offered to attend the Astronomy School in the April holidays for 5 days. This astronomy school for Year 13 students is held in Christchurch at the University of Canterbury, and at the UC Mt John Observatory in Tekapo. The programme includes a mix of lectures, practical work and social activities. On campus, they will discuss the universe past, present and future, the life cycles of stars, planet exploration, extra-terrestrial life and more. At Ōtehīwai Mount John, they will explore our cosmic neighbourhood with modern astronomical instruments. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, congratulations Beatrice.
