WHY: Continuing to foster our culture of learning at Carmel.
As we begin Term 2, we are starting a new initiative to support girls and their learning at Carmel. We will focus on different subjects each week, with specialised student tutors assisting students with their current in-class work or providing extension activities. Tutors are available to help with homework and will have prepared resources if students have no particular activities to finish or work on. A supervising teacher will also be present. Several times each term, we will hold skills workshops for students upstairs in the library while other students work downstairs. These will be on broader skills that all our Carmel students should be working on. In Term 2, we will hold workshops on referencing, study skills and essay writing. Please see the schedule HERE.
Our Heads of Academic, Maia O’Callaghan and Melinda Chen, are organising this initiative. If you have questions please email Ms Rosanna Fouhy, Deputy Principal rfouhy@carmel.school.nz
