Wellbeing@School

Next week Carmel College and Rosmini College will be surveying all students and staff using the New Zealand Centre for Educational Research (NZCER) Wellbeing@School survey tool.  The Wellbeing@School survey tool explores the extent to which students and staff perceive the school’s social climate to be safe and caring.

The survey’s main focus is to support us in:

  • Improving social wellbeing and relationships for all.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe school climate that deters bullying behaviour.

After the survey, areas of strength (aspects of school practice that most students agree are in place) and areas that require attention and next steps (aspects of practice that fewer students agree are in place) will be identified.  The Wellbeing@School review tools will then guide our individual schools and their strategic approach to supporting wellbeing and encourage self-review, leadership and collaborative decision-making based on evidence-informed next steps.

While we anticipate that each school may have differing results, we are excited about working together to determine the best way to support our students’ wellbeing across both Carmel and Rosmini Colleges.

If you have any questions or concerns about the Wellbeing@School survey, please contact tferens@carmel.school.nz or dpearce@rosmini.school.nz.
