Year 7/8 2023 Athletics Day

Thursday 19 October at Takapuna Athletics Club – Onewa Domain, Akoranga Drive
This is a one-off event for Year 7/8 in 2023 due to the whole school cancelled event in Term 1

First race will be before the day starts at 8.30am for the 1500m runners

Students walking group leaving Carmel at 8.45am

Full programme starts at 9.45am

End of day is no later than 2.30pm

 

An email will be sent to all students by 7.00am on the day if the event is cancelled

TRANSPORT 

There will be a walking group from school for all students, meeting at the front courtyard to leave at 8.45am.  All students will walk back to Carmel at the end of the day.

1500M RUN EVENT 

Any student wishing to compete in this event will need to arrive at the athletics club earlier for an 8.30am start to run this before the day officially starts.

TO BRING

  • Mufti/dress up in house colours.

  • Bring all their own food, lots of water, sunblock, hat, sunglasses and some shade if they like, eg a beach tent or umbrella etc.

  • All students are encouraged to participate in something, and so all should bring sports shoes.
