All the Year 7 students started their day off with a Mass celebrated by Father Marchellino. After Mass we were organised into House groups for workshops including drama, art and prayer. During the prayer workshop we were taught the 5 finger prayer and some traditional prayers like, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be and Guardian Angel. We also got taught a new way of praying called Meditative Prayer. In the art workshop we had a fantastic time using our house colours and core mercy values to paint masterpieces to show what our school was all about. We all had an amazing time acting out the parables of Jesus and the miracles he performed.
All the Year 7s and student leaders gathered near the labyrinth to have a shared lunch. There was so much food! The leaders of each house gave us a Welcome Pack. Inside the Welcome Pack were two sunflower seeds symbolising that when they grow we will grow with them, a message from the Head Girls giving us a few tips, hair ribbons with our school colours and an awesome shared lunch with some games included.
