On Thursday, 20 March Year 7 went to the Orewa Surf Club for a fun day. We quickly changed into wetsuits then walked down to the beach with our bright blue surfboards. Learning how to get up and what our back foot does, and the important parts of the board were things we needed to remember. The blissful water and the wonderful supervisors, Hamish, Geoff and Luke were a hit. They helped us surf and catch some waves during the 45 minute session. We bailed a few times and drank some salty sea water.
After lunch and a free swim, beach games were next. The first game was capture the flag beach edition, then we played tug of war.
A big thank you to Aotearoa Surf who ran the whole day, together with all the other helpers.
