In Social Studies this term, we have been learning about sustainable fashion and the repercussions of the ‘Fast Fashion Industry’. As part of this we have been given a challenge to make an eco-fashion garment. The categories for this challenge are; Sci-fi, Art, Evening Wear and Day Wear. We have been asked to create our garments using only recycled materials and deadstock from a range of sources. We are required to think about all the resources we are using, including hot glue guns, sewing machines and thread, We are all working in groups to create our masterpieces. We have been required to follow a process of designing, experimenting and creating. This has pushed us to problem solve collaboratively and think outside of the box to come up with solutions.
Next week we will be presenting all our garments in a show.
