On Wednesday 10 June, the Year 8’s experienced their second retreat day at Carmel College. The day began with a liturgy, where everyone learnt about Mary. We were told about her life experience and how we can relate and aspire to be like her. We learnt that she was born without original sin and gave birth to Jesus Christ, the son of God. We prayed to Mary and sang songs. After the liturgy, everyone was split into house groups and went to do their first activity (out of three). We painted Mother Mary with dye and crayons, made our own unique rosary bracelets and performed events from Mary’s life. At lunch we were treated to pizza, and at the end of the day we prayed to Mother Mary using our new rosary bracelets.
