Year 9 Short Film Competition

During Activity Week, the Year 9 cohort took on the exciting challenge of creating a short film trailer for either a horror or coming-of-age movie.  Their process began with storyboarding their ideas, followed by filming their scenes using a variety of camera angles and shots, and editing the footage to include spooky sound effects and suspenseful music.  Throughout the project, they carefully considered how film techniques can be used to captivate an audience.

We received many wonderful submissions that were suspenseful, creative and left us wanting to see the whole film!

The winning short film was Lurking (still from the movie above) created by Aanya Mohan, Hannah Tay and Haerin Yoo (pictured from left).  They each received two complimentary movie tickets courtesy of Kira at Event Cinemas Albany.  We are very grateful for their support and generosity.

Second runner up was School’s Out created by Rebecca Young, Phoebe Allen, Hazel Van de Elzen and Aurielee Marcaida.

Third runner up was Drop Dead created by Charlotte Moore, Eve Barr, Julia Gao and Mirna Greis.
