In 2020 Charisse Carlos was awarded the Year 12 Zonta Leadership award at the Carmel College Prizegiving.  This award was to recognise ‘quiet leadership’ within the school community.

This year Zonta North Shore hosted an event where Charisse and other recipients of this award from four North Shore schools came together to share their experiences.  Awardees spoke about why they had been selected and what their future plans were.  We listened to guest speaker, Professor Virginia Braun from the University of Auckland, who spoke about the concept of body hair over time in society.  Her presentation was very thought-provoking.
